If there's one grape that belongs to South Africa, it's Chenin Blanc – and this is its day. Nowhere else in the world does it show such range – from lean and flinty to lush and golden, from everyday drinking to some of the most complex whites on the continent. It's a variety with more to say than most.

The Drink Chenin Festival returns to the stunning grounds of Cavalli Estate – a fittingly beautiful home for a day like this, and a winery that puts Chenin at the heart of its own winemaking. Pour your way through expressions from over 20 of the country's top producers – from crisp and mineral to rich and wooded – while live music plays and local food vendors keep things well fed.
