Here's the thing about running on a wine farm in winter – you don't need much convincing. Cold air, mountain views, your feet on proper trail, and something worth drinking waiting at the finish line. If that doesn't get you out of bed on a cold Saturday morning, nothing will.

Rhebokskloof holds a special place in this story – it's where Run The Vines took its very first steps back in 2015, and eleven years later, the series is coming home. There's something about returning to where it all began, surrounded by the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve, that gives this particular Saturday a little extra meaning. The scenery alone is worth lacing up for – big mountain views, rows of winter vines, and that particular stillness you only get in the Boland in July. First timer or faithful regular, you'll feel it.

Rhebokskloof has been making wine since 1797 and it shows – there's a gravitas to the place that a lot of farms don't have. The Paarl Trails network here is world-class, which means the running is genuinely good before you even factor in the scenery.

Choose your distance, earn your glass, and stay for the music and food afterwards. Winter Saturdays don't get much better than this.
