Sunday Lunch Well Spent at Leopard's Leap
If you're looking for the perfect Sunday lunch, I may have found it.
One of my favourite things about Leopard's Leap is that even on a cold winter's day, those enormous glass doors make you feel like you're sitting outside – the mountains right there, the vineyards rolling away in front of you, the light doing its Franschhoek thing. It's the kind of space that makes you exhale.
They have a new culinary team and the food is all the better for it. The Sunday carvery – beautiful cuts of meat, the kind that fall apart exactly as they should – but honestly it was the salads that were the unexpected star of the table. Fresh, seasonal, composed with real confidence. These were the salads you eat slowly and then go back for more of, twice. I'm crediting Chef William Cornelissen entirely.
Add a good glass of red and a table full of people you love, and that's a Sunday well spent.
