The Brand That Broke My Edit

There are brands you love, and then there are brands that make you forget what you were even looking for in the first place. Normally I see it, I love it and I know exactly why. Sweet Peas had me going back and forth, talking to myself, switching allegiances mid-scroll. First it was the pumps – impossibly elegant, the kind that make you feel like you've got your whole life together just by putting them on. Then the linen and knits – clean and unhurried, the kind you want to live in. And then I discovered the boot video – and just like that, boot season had never felt so necessary.

And I still haven’t decided what I love most but I think that's my point.

Made by Hand. Made with Heart.

Two sisters. A gap in the market. And the audacity to fill it beautifully.

Stacy and Che founded Sweet Peas in 2017 because they care about slow fashion and couldn't find what they were looking for in South Africa – so they created it themselves. Handcrafted, locally produced, internationally inspired – and underpinned by a genuine belief that fashion should be considered and made to last.

Bias, Acknowledged

I'll admit I came with a slight bias – my husband is from KwaZulu-Natal, which means I have a deep and possibly irrational soft spot for everything that comes out of that province (second only to Cape Town – obviously). Knowing that Sweet Peas is rooted there – every piece is made by KZN hands – only makes me love them more.

And yes, Capetonians – they deliver so you have no excuse.

So, What Should You Buy?

Honestly? That's between you and Sweet Peas – but I'd start by browsing without a plan, which is exactly where I went wrong (or right, depending on how you look at it). Let the pumps do what the pumps do. Watch the boot video. See what happens.

What I can tell you is this: for what you're getting – the craftsmanship, the materials, the care, the story – the pricing is more than fair. It's the kind of brand you feel good about buying from, in every sense of the phrase.
